Hi, I'm Hilsee! Whether you're my match or a random viewer, welcome one and all! These are just some rambling thoughts + plot bunnies. As long as there're no DNWs involved I'll love everything you write for me! I have no particular preference for any rating from G-E - I do prefer shippy fics, but character-centric/emotionally-charged platonic gen fic could be interesting too!

My ao3 is ohmyvalar.

Do-Not-Wants:
non-canonical & unrequested permanent character death/disabilities
unrequested genderswap
irrevocable tragedy fics (angst w a happy/bittersweet ending is great though!)
mundane & modern AUs (coffee shop, soulmate etc.), ooc crack (for these fandoms i'd prefer historical AUs only please!)
kinks: watersports, scat, bestiality, mpreg, a/b/o, hard lifestyle bdsm, explicit underage, ooc feminization based on character's sexual positions, daddy kink

Likes:
- angst with a happy ending (bittersweet is great too! just not a totally downer ending)
- codependency to the point of an unhealthy relationship, acknowledged in-universe or not
- strong characterization/character study
- kinks: emotional(?) sex where characters' mental landscape are explored (whether its positive or negative, focused on their partner or not,       both are great! or even unenthusiastic sex where someone's mind wanders elsewhere instead - just general introspection during sex is interesting), non-con/dub-con, sex pollen, oral, desperation, power play, dirty talk, unhealthy coping mechanisms

Golden Kamuy
Characters:
Ogata Hyakunosuke, Kiroranke, Ariko Rikimatsu, Kikuta

Ah Golden Kamuy, you beautifully violent, hilarious, bizarre adventure. I'd love to read character study fics about any of these characters - pre-canon backstory fleshed out? canon-period introspection? The complexities of these characters' alliances and true motivations really makes imagination run wild! Power plays and secret double-crossings galore. Regarding character pairings, I mainly ship Ogata/Kiroranke and Ariko/Kikuta, but hey! Surprise me! I'm a consummate multishipper and would be interested in any possible permutations of these characters.

Ogata/Kiroranke:
Precanon: how did they first meet (in the army during the war?) and come to their understanding and arrangement? I couldn't get enough of their silent camaraderie of mutual plotting in canon, and would love to see how that developed. Snarky banter? Trying to tease out each other's motivations under smiles and banter? Canon: do they sneak away when everyone else in the group has gone to sleep to plot together - or more?

Ariko/Kikuta:
Precanon: the imagery of them spending that night in the trenches, injured and holding onto the sound of each other's voices until daybreak really stuck with me. what did they talk about? did their mood and state fluctuate throughout the night as their injuries worsen without knowing if help will ever come? was one - or both of them - even then secretly filing away information for future power plays? did they know each other before that night, and how well? And after the war: how did they spend their break away from the 7th division's main operations? situational codependency? Ariko seems to be the more stoic of the two, while Kikuta is the more charming/conversational between them; how does that dynamic work for them? Canon: they've parted ways as of now, but speculation about future reunions/betrayals?

Design for Living
Characters: Tom Chambers, George Curtis, Gilda Farrell

Character studies of these individual characters would be really interesting - especially the two men's relationship before they met Gilda, and her own life before meeting them. And of course: post-canon poly relationship shenanigans! Are they domestic, or do they openly flaunt their relationship (as much as possible within the realities of that era)? Do they stay in Paris, or do they embark on a Grand Tour of Europe? I'd prefer no noncon/dubcon for this fandom in general.

Psmith
Characters: Mike Jackson, Psmith
For this fandom my favorite is boarding school!era with all its relatable misdemeanors and shenanigans! But genre-wise, anything is good - canon-typical light-hearted humor or misunderstandings-fueled angstfest? both r good! i'd prefer not to read noncon for this, and preferably no handwaving of period typical homophobia.

Mike Jackson/Rupert(?) Psmith:
i missed nominations but i'd love adding Adair into the mix as well, if you're so inclined of course! maybe either Mike or Psmith mistakes the other's budding friendship w the cricket captain for something more, leading to misunderstandings and jealousy/angst at unrequited love? or is there actually something more there, but all can be solved with a good old threesome/poly relationship? unconventional courting rituals: Mike's slightly awkward, inexperienced maneuverings and Psmith's dramatic, obstreperous schemes? established relationship: secrecy in the dorm (do they devise schemes to avoid their other roommate? poor Jellicoe!) and stolen kisses in secluded stairways? sneaking out to the village at night while evading detection for midnight dates? ... cricket? (i still have little understanding for the game but is it really Psmith without it?)

The Lighthouse
Characters: Ephraim Winslow, Thomas Wake
I.. have not had the chance to watch this yet, but I will before reveals so no worries about that! But therefore, in terms of prompts & content I'm pretty much open to anything that would not be OOC. Power plays? Situational codependency? Delusion-fueled dubcon/noncon? All's good! I'd be interested in precanon backstory as well, for either characters (although from what I've heard post-canon probably won't be possible).

Maleficent

Characters: Diaval, Aurora, Maleficent, Queen Ingrith
It's alright if you haven't caught the sequel yet (which could technically happen if we didn't match on Queen Ingrith?) but I was pleasantly surprised by the movie and would love to read post-canon fic for it! Prince Philip isn't in the nominations list but I would love to see him included in any fic involving Aurora too. Again, I'd be thrilled to read character studies of any of these characters - and regarding ship permutations, go wild! I multiship and would be intrigued to read any less conventional pairings involving these characters as well. For gen fic, I'd love to see how post-canon (for either movie) worked out for these characters (or precanon for Queen Ingrith's case). I would prefer no dubcon/noncon in this fandom as well.

For Queen Ingrith, I'd be particularly interested in her backstory with her brother, and how she changed thereafter, how she felt being forced to marry a man she didn't love - and did she love her son Philip at all? Bonus points for post-canon if she somehow finds out that her brother hadn't been killed at all, but has instead been living with his old sworn enemies (post-conflict amnesia? a gradual change of heart after initial imprisonment to prevent him from raising an army? go wild!) Basically, realistic redemption arc - which I would love to end in a reconciliation and genuine acceptance of her new daughter-in-law and her son's choices. Or even coming to see her husband as more than a weak king? I would love to see him acknowledging that she was unhappy to have married him out of circumstance, but firmly recognizing that her deeds during the movie were unforgivable and disproportionate in retribution. A grudging mutual understanding between Ingrith and Maleficent? I think the movie did a good job portraying both as strong women despite being archenemies with vastly different ideologies and motivations - and would love to see that further explored!

Diaval/Maleficent:
Postcanon: Does he stay behind in the Moors/in the palace with Aurora while Maleficent rejoins her kind in rebuilding around the world? Cue mutual silent pining, Diaval navigating palace politics & helping Aurora while Maleficent is a world away on a purpose of her own. Dramatic reunions? Or does he join her in her journey across the globe, while everyone wonders and speculates on their relationship? Is their relationship established yet, or is slow burn/sexual tension fully in effect? How does their relationship move beyond the creator/creation bond? Does Maleficent have fun with changing Diaval's form?

Maleficent/Queen Ingrith:
Postcanon: redemption arc? does some ~plot element~ require Maleficent to ask Queen Ingrith for help/information? Is it as simple as their children pleading for them to reconcile? Does the King smilingly accept their relationship, after all he has been through? Post-reconcilation: do they each help the other understand the workings of their very different worlds? what are their children's reactions to their relationship? are they public about it (I would love this - it's a tale as old as time, except this time it's between a "witch" fairy and a queen!)?

The Bacchae
Characters: Pentheus, Dionysus

Ah yes, violent, passionate frenzies. I'd love character backstories of these two fleshed out, drawing from any other Greek myths in general - or meetings in dreams/other forms of Dionysus before their canonical encounter! Or, some AU where they grow up together when Agave doesn't die, with Dionysus presumed as a more normal demigod before he reveals his true divinity? Does Dionysus still eventually wreck his revenge on Thebes and Dionysus?

Pentheus/Dionysus:
I particularly enjoy the dynamic of repressed, stoic Pentheus and flamboyant, dangerously dramatic Dionysus teasing him in all sorts of horrible ways. Power plays? Identity porn? Noncon/dubcon? It's all good!

Hi, I'm Hilsee! Whether you're my match or a random viewer, thanks for being part of my first Choc Box Exchange experience hehe. This will probably end up being an unnecessarily long-winded letter, so feel free to skim or skip everything! (I'm writing this from scratch again since my previous draft - I was halfway through it - got deleted lol ;_;) These are just some rambling thoughts + plot bunnies. As long as there're no DNWs involved I'll love everything you write for me! I have no particular preference for any rating from G-E.

With that said, let's jump right into it!

Do-Not-Wants:

Fandoms
The Terror (TV) | Psmith - P. G. Wodehouse | Original Work

The Terror
Ahhh, this fandom ;_; It's been a long time since a binged an entire tv series (granted it was only 10 episodes but still;;) and a tragedy at that. I loved the slow slide into disaster and desperation, but especially the characters' interactions and arcs as they do so. So I'd prefer fics to keep the dark edge (especially for characters like Hickey!) even if its an AU! Also, I'd prefer for canon-typical homophobia not to be handwaved (as far as you are comfortable of course!), although it doesn't have to be explicitly acknowledged/internalized in particular characters

Francis Crozier/James Fitzjames
Oh these two. I love the progression of their relationship through the series, and all the possibilities at each stage for a fic centred on exactly that. Pre-canon fic set in the comparative glitz and glamour of Victorian England high society, where they are first formally introduced at a Navy officers' party? Or were they already privately acquainted at a dinner with the Franklins? High fashoon, ostentatiously-dressed Fitzjames and a disapproving Crozier who can't quite stop staring? Early canon subtle, barely veiled barbs exchanged as they vie for Franklin's approval and confidence? Hate sex (in the captain's cabin? on the officers' meeting table?) that leads to each grudgingly realizing that the other is not quite as terrible as they would like to think? Does their relationship deepen during their respective periods of weakness: for Fitzjames the night of Franklin's death, for Crozier his withdrawal? Outsider POV where the lieutenants and/or other crew members notice their commanding officers' gradually warming relationship? Late-night heart-to-hearts or stolen moments from their busy schedules in the privacy of their rooms? Canon divergence AU where Franklin never dies but is persuaded by Crozier to greater caution, and they succeed in discovering the Northwest Passage, returning to England in triumph: do Fitzjames and Crozier develop an understanding through the years even without canon character development? Late-canon: how do they cope with Fitzjames' failing health and body? The last days of desperate intimacy, curled together under the tent, each willing the other to live on ;_; OR, more happily, canon divergence AU where both survive and return to England: do they settle in a cozy little shared bachelor pad, with occasional visits from Lady Franklin and Sophia? Diff-historical period!AU where they still start off as rivals but become something more, with careers - or workplaces - that ensure a greater life expectancy? ;_; For this pairing I'd prefer not to read non-con, although dub-con is fine!

Harry Goodsir/Cornelius Hickey
Again, all the possibilities of their relationship at different stages! TV Hickey's past is never made explicit, so let your imagination run wild with pre-canon/semi-AU fics! Does gentry anatomy student Goodsir wander down the wrong street too late at night, and run into body snatcher Hickey? Hickey disposing of original!Hickey's body? Thief!Hickey coming to lighten the good doctor of both his wallet and virtue? ... Bitter sex worker!Hickey soliciting the innocent-looking gentleman? Early canon Hickey successfully entering Goodsir's good books by greater persistence in his praise and conduct? Does Goodsir try to re-calibrate Hickey's moral compass, and to what degree of success - if any at all? Mutiny!era power plays, Hickey wanting Goodsir's medical skills and Goodsir wanting leverage/power over Hickey/his camp? Is Goodsir's action plan less fatal with earlier action/a more unconventional scheme?

Francis Crozier/Thomas Jopson
I didn't really ship this pair until that last scene ;_; I see their relationship as somewhere between father-and-son, friends and lovers. How did they meet, and why is Jopson the only one (either than Blanky of course) who is so loyal to his captain from the start of the series? Since their relationship follows a fairly regular progression compared to other pairings, I'd like to see a pre-canon fic which explains how they have grown to understand each other. Early canon voyeurism by outsider POVs, who wonder at the young handsome steward's attachment to his older, cynical, bristly captain? Does their relationship turn romantic/sexual during Crozier's period of reliance during his withdrawal (dub-con? i'd prefer not to read non-con for this pairing too hehe), and how does it change - if it does indeed change - after Crozier's recovery and the brief window in which Jopson is promoted to lieutenant? And of course, that last scene ;_; What makes Jopson, starving on his deathbed, hallucinate delicious banquet food only to shove them away with eyes only for his captain, who's not even looking at him and indeed conversing happily with someone else? Perhaps a parallel with all the times Jopson as his steward stood at the door, watching his captain dine with the rest of command, or even before, back in England? Canon-divergence AU: if they both survive, how does their relationship shift without the binding order of rank, especially if they choose to stay in the Artic? or back in Victorian England with its typical class and sexuality issues?

Psmith
For this fandom my favorite is boarding school!era with all its relate-able misdemeanors and shenanigans! But genre-wise, anything is good - canon-typical light-hearted humor or misunderstandings-fueled angstfest? both r good! i'd prefer not to read noncon for this too hehe, and preferably no handwaving of period typical homophobia (although

Mike Jackson/Rupert(?) Psmith
i missed nominations but i'd love adding Adair into the mix as well, if you're so inclined of course! maybe either Mike or Psmith mistakes the other's budding friendship w the cricket captain for something more, leading to misunderstandings and jealousy/angst at unrequited love? or is there actually something more there, but all can be solved with a good old threesome/poly relationship? unconventional courting rituals: Mike's slightly awkward, inexperienced maneuverings and Psmith's dramatic, obstreperous schemes? established relationship: secrecy in the dorm (do they devise schemes to avoid their other roommate? poor Jellicoe!) and stolen kisses in secluded stairways? sneaking out to the village at night while evading detection for midnight dates? ... cricket? (i still have little understanding for the game but is it really Psmith without it, lol?)

Original Work
As these prompts are generally interpreted as historical, i'd prefer no modern AUs! I love worldbuilding and strong characterisation, but this is choc box exchange, so a short glimpse into these characters' lives would be great too! angst or fluff, both would be great! excepting where the time period is already explicit, any era would be interesting! Historical context, or fictional universes?

Virgin King/Knight
ooh. is the Knight of an age with the King, a couple years younger, or twenty? Is he a long-serving Kingsguard of some sort, or a battlefield legend always away winning more honor for the King's name, or a starry-eyed newly knighted darling of the court? Does he come from a noble family used to the luxury and ways of the King's circle, or is he a self-made New Man who worked his way up? Does he wear his heart on his sleeve, or is his love (or lust) kept silently close to his heart, known to none? Does the King know of his feelings (or urges)? Speaking of which, is the King a virgin by choice, or does Fate keep comically intervening whenever there's an opportunity to change that status? is he asexual, and if so do they learn to build a romantic but non-sexual relationship? what kind of King is he? a wise ruler of many decades, or even an unlikely successor in his relative older age - if so, does he suspect the Knight's intentions towards him as motivated by power-grabbing instead of love/lust? How does the Knight confess at last - or does the King confront him instead? Or, alternatively a darker interpretation: is the Knight a yandere plotting to ensnare the King, whether the latter wills it or not, with love potions? power leveraging? blackmail? even non-con, he treats the King gently... as proof of his "love". or even dub-con where neither of them wanted it like this under the effects of an aphrodisiac, or mutual non-con by a third party?

Dishonored Knight/Mercenary Who Just Wants to Get Paid
how did the Knight become dishonored, and how is he dealing with it? does he remain loyal to his duties and values as a Knight, and chafe violently against the differing values the mercenary embodies? or has he become disillusioned, and accept the mercenary as a compatriot - perhaps he goes to a mercenary company and gets a new partner for a mission? maybe he's driven to the mercenary lifestyle despite despising its values by dire financial straits, having already been disdained by all his old comrades - and he and his mercenary partner become a kinda buddy-cop pair! if so, do they succeed in changing the other's mindsets towards honor? alternatively, is this a mission both are invested in - the knight as a means to regain his honor & prestige, the mercenary for.. yknow the money that he values above all. midnight fireside discussions about morality and honor? love 'em. Alternatively, darker interpretation: has the mercenary been sent on a mission to assassinate the dishonored knight? what happens next?

Dashing Highwayman/King in Disguise as Noble
why is the king in disguise? Is he travelling light/lying low bc he's secretly investigating something that threatens the kingdom? Or is he on his way to or back from a..  Compromising establishment/Situation for a king to be caught in? What kind of King is he, and does he mask his true personality as the Noble too? Is the dashing highwayman one by choice or circumstance? Is he blasé about his thieving career, or does he suffer secret pangs to his conscience? Cynical or romantic? How doesthe relationship onshipp progress? Does the King keep a "accidentally" going down the same road he knows the highwayman operates at? Does the highwayman take skmething important off the king, who has no choice but to return to retrieve it personally? How does the eventual revelation of the Kings true identity come about, and what are its consequences? Maybe the highwayman has redeemed himself by performing services (Whatever kind of services... ;) ) to the king and state? Or has their relationship progressed to the point that he's confident the king will not leave him to hang? Or does he feel betrayed, leading to furthermisunderstandings and drama? Alternatively, dark interpretation: Does the highwayman immediately discover the King's true identity? Is he holding the King ransom?

First and foremost: thank you for creating for me! This is my first fic exchange and hence consequently my first exchange letter; so here's to a mutually pleasant new experience! 🍻

My ao3 is ohmyvalar

The following (too-long) list is purely for optional reference; except for the DNWs, feel free to ignore the prompts below if you so wish (so please don't be pressured lol, my headcanons just overtook my prompting process!) On the other hand, if you love reading long, incoherent paragraphs of what is essentially fandom rambling, please read on and enjoy(?)

General

Do-Not-Wants: crack, ooc, gratuitous gore, bestiality, necrophilia, underage (below 17), watersports, tragedy, non-canonical major character death/permanent disabilities, coffee-shop AU etc, issue fic, soulmate AU, ABO AU
(brief mentions of all listed above are fine, just don't have the fic centered on them, please!)

Likes: angst with a happy ending, nostalgia, deliberate moral dissonance, unhealthy coping mechanisms, dirty talk, dubious consent (in relation to unhealthy coping mechanisms)

Additional notes: smut isn't necessary, but would be a nice cherry on top of a plot(?); meaningful genderswap is okay (with possible repercussions on their socio/political status not brushed over etc); Character A/Character B = personal preference, but versatile works too!

Classical Greece and Rome History & Literature RPF

Julius Caesar/Marcus Junius Brutus the Younger
Possible Tropes: power imbalance, conflicting loyalties, canon divergence, AU (either historical but w changed dynamics, or any other time period but w unchanged dynamics?), Emotionally-Aloof!Caesar/Confused-Pining!Brutus, Creepy-Benefactor!Caesar/Manipulative!Brutus?

Ah, the delicious possibilities of this ship. How does Servilia's long-standing affair with Caesar affect - or even kick-start - her son's relationship with him? Does Caesar ever see Brutus as anything other than his lover's son/replacement first? Maybe Cicero's taunt about Junia and Caesar reaches Brutus too? Pre-Caesar's Civil War: Childhood (platonic) interactions in Servilia's house? Tension-filled, testing conversations in the lead-up to the crossing of the Rubicon? Conflicted loyalties during the Civil War? Post-war side-switching drama: Does Caesar leverage his offer of clemency in exchange for Brutus' submission beyond the political realm, and does the latter accept it with the long-term goal of building up his own support base and/or saving as many of his friends as he can? How does Brutus finally decide to commit tyrannicide, and how much of that decision is motivated by their relationship? Maybe a snapshot of Caesar's dying thoughts?

Mark Antony/Marcus Junius Brutus the Younger
Possible Tropes: political rivalry for Caesar's favor, Jealous!Antony/Bemused!Brutus, rivals to lovers, rivals with benefits(?), Smug-Debauchee!Antony/Disapproving-But-Comes-To-See-He's-Not-As-Dumb-As-He-Seems!Brutus, canon divergence, AU as above

Historically, not much seems to be known about their relationship(?) According to Plutarch, there seemed to be some respect for Brutus by Antony at least. Was this opinion derived from closer interactions after their shared service under Caesar? Or maybe some childhood, foreshadowing shenanigans? Is Antony jealous of Cassius/Caesar/Portia's shotgun marriage in relation to Brutus? Do they try to one-up each other in their political machinations? Does Antony hear and disregard rumors about the assassination because of his relationship with Brutus, and regret it later? Betrayal of Brutus' assassination on Caesar? Post-assassination fallout? Does Antony and/or Brutus trade the latter's escape from Rome for favors once freely given? Angst over the Battle Of Phillippi? A reflective, nostalgic memoir of a relationship remnant only in fragments saved from the indiscriminately merciless winds of time?

Julius Caesar/Marcus Junius Brutus the Younger + Mark Antony/Marcus Junius Brutus the Younger
Possible Tropes: Basically an amalgamation of the above, when applicable - plus an additional dose of jealousy and rivalry all around, lol. Caesar resignedly thinks that his younger deputy and benefactee(?) are hooking up at his expense, Antony thinks that he's the outsider in the generational relationship, and Brutus thinks dictator and deputy are passing him between them like a proxy object in their games. I'd love a straight-up poly threesome, although idk if that's allowed bc it's not in the nominations (?)

Star Wars Original Trilogy

Leia Organa/Han Solo + Leia Organa/Luke Skywalker or Leia Organa & Han Solo & Luke Skywalker
Possible Tropes: canon divergence where Darth Vader raises the twins under the Galactic Empire, canon compliant but Leia continues to be torn between Han and Luke after the sibling reveal

If you're comfortable with writing a Sith canon divergence AU, dear writer, I'd love a fic where, as above, Darth Vader benefits from the emotional/humane/redeeming connection to his children... But not enough to turn back to the light. Instead, he eventually overthrows Palpatine - who found Darth Vader less malleable without his complete devastation - and sits the throne himself, with the aim of conquering the galaxy under the Skywalker (? Maybe the presence of his children motivates him to retain and take pride in the family name? I'm not fussy about the specifics lol) name. Leia and Luke (both, one or even none become trained Siths - you choose), in the process of carrying out their father's orders, meet Han... And the rest is history, as they say(???) I don't really mind either platonic relationships or romantic ones between any of the three, as long as the fic is centred on their interactions. I'd love a straight-up poly threesome too, although idk if that's allowed bc it's not in the nominations (?)

If not, maybe canon complaint Leia Organa being torn between  her own emerging feelings for both Luke and Hana even after the sibling reveal? Or Luke and Leia awkwardly trying to establish a new platonic relationship between them (and failing or succeeding according to your desires lol) with a mostly supportive Han that reassures them that he has actually seen weirder things in the galaxy. Or just a cute galaxy backpacking trip between OT3 (that is, anything at all that catches your muse's fancy lol.)

Darth Vader & Leia Organa
Can be added on to the above Big Three sandwich, or stand alone if you wish! Maybe a Sith!Leia's interactions with her father, or Leia Organa's reflections on the reveal of Darth Vader's identity etc. It doesn't have to come to a happy reconciliatory ending, but hopefully not a full-out tragedy, lol(?)

Riverdale

Jason Blossom/Cheryl Blossom or Jason Blossom & Cheryl Blossom
Possible Tropes: Coming of age, angst in hindsight, nostalgic, AU where Jason lives

I'm not all caught up on the TV show, but I don't mind spoilers so go all out, lol. Childhood fluff and/or pre/post-death angst is all fine, but I'd prefer it to end on a comparatively positive note (Cheryl comes to terms with the death and herself etc).

Or partial or complete AU where Jason survives/never was killed and the siblings continue their lives together.
